Guardian Angel Program Lincoln

Update!

Hello there! My name is Lincoln and I am a loyal and loving 3-year-old neutered German Shepherd who is looking for an adult-only home. I am good with other dogs and cats; however, I am looking for a home where I can be the only pet. Like most dogs, I love to run and play, especially with my favorite football toy! I am also a very sweet boy who loves to snuggle up with my person. I already know the commands for "sit," "paw," "stay," "come," "down," "watch me," "yours," "mine," and "leave it." I also walk very nicely on the leash! I am house broken. I have some separation anxiety; however, having windows to look out seems to help with this. Because I don't do well with the traditional-style of showings, I am able to meet by appointment with approved applicants who are able to give me the home that I need. Anyone interested in more information or potentially adopting me should contact PAWS at dogs@centrecountypaws.org.

Guardian Angel Program Casper

Hi! My name is Casper and I am a sweet 11-year-old neutered Maltese who is looking for an adult-only home. Although I may be shy at first, I warm up quickly. I am good with cats, and get along just fine with the dogs in my new foster home. Even though they are a lot bigger than me, we're starting to play tag and I'm kind of interested in playing ball! I am house broken, and will go to the door when I need to go out. I quietly sleep through the night in my crate. I sometimes hang out in my crate during the day, but I also like to make a nest in a pile of blankets! I enjoy relaxing in a lap and going outside for fresh air. As I become more comfortable in my foster home, my true personality is emerging - I'm curious, spunky, and have lots of kisses to share! I am living in a foster home, so I can be seen at PAWS during the Sunday showings from 12pm to 2pm. I hope to see you soon!

Guardian Angel Program Comet

Hello! My name is Comet and I am an energetic and friendly 7-year-old neutered Australian Shepherd. I am a very sweet boy who loves being with my person and playing with rope toys! Although I have been around young children, I would do best in a home with older children because of my energy level and herding tendencies. I am good with other dogs and cats, but I am not very good with rabbits or goats. I am both house broken and crate trained. In fact, I love my crate, but I can also be trusted in the house alone. I am a little scared of strangers, which can make me appear unfriendly, but when I am introduced properly, I really love meeting new people! Because of this, I am only able to meet by appointment with approved applicants who are able to give me the home that I need. Anyone interested in more information or potentially adopting me should contact PAWS at dogs@centrecountypaws.org.

Delta

Hi there! I’m Delta, an 8-month-old spayed pure-bred yellow Lab. I’m a big girl, already 70 pounds, and like most Labs my age, I am very energetic. I love to play with all my friends at Sporty Dog Day Care, and I like all the dogs in my foster home! I met a cat this week, and I didn't know what to think about her at first, but she seemed nice, so I don’t think I’d mind living with cats. I’m still working on my housebreaking, and although I have spent lots of time in a crate, I don’t always like it and sometimes I complain. I like kids, but I still have lots of puppy energy that may be too much for small ones. I really like being with my people and can get anxious if they leave me. I am living in a foster home, so I can be seen at PAWS during the Sunday showings from 12pm to 2 pm. I hope to see you soon!

Hello! My name is Jenny and I am a 3.5-year-old spayed Boxer/Ridgeback mix who weighs 50 pounds. I have completed lots of training, so I know numerous commands and I walk very nicely on my leash! I am house-broken and crate-trained, and am placid in the car. I am very respectful around the house and do not climb on things or make a mess, and I am quite quiet. I would really like to be placed in a household where I am the only pet, but I am able to play nicely with some other dogs provided I can meet them politely. I am learning to be better with meeting strangers as right now I tend to become protective of my owners when on a leash. I can mostly ignore strangers on the street but easily become cautious. I will only be placed in a home with no children. I need a family who has had dog experience to help me be balanced in and out of the house. I am a very placid, affectionate, and endearing house partner. Out on the street or in the woods, I need direction to make sure I don't over-react to sudden surprises. I am proud to say that I have already started training through the PAWS foster home and am told that I am excelling. I will also receive FREE training from the PAWS Good Dog Fund upon adoption. Because I don't do well with the chaos of traditional-style of showings, I am able to meet by appointment with approved applicants who are able to give me the home that I need. Anyone interested in more information or potentially adopting me should contact PAWS at dogs@centrecountypaws.org.

Everybody needs something to believe in. And when everyone at PAWS says I'm a sweet girl, believe me, it's true. I really am. But I'm also a special needs dog who needs some help fitting in. Maybe you've heard that I bark at some people -- sometimes I even lunge at them. And I suppose that looks scary. Truth is, I do it because I'm afraid. The ironic part is that some people are now afraid-- of me. They don't see that I'm an incredibly affectionate, loving, dog. And because of that, I've been at the PAWS shelter for three years. I really need someone to love -- and to love me back. My foster family will tell you I'm a fantastic dog with many wonderful traits. I'm smart as a whip and eager to please. I'm obedient and know lots of commands. What I don't know, I learn in a hurry. It's true! Somewhere along the line, I was in a bad situation. I may have been mistreated and learned some bad habits. But I've been in a special training program and I'm greatly improved -- so don't judge me on what you've heard before. I still have a way to go, but I'm making progress. The counselors at PAWS don't think I'm a good match for families with young kids. As much as I love playing with other dogs, I'd do best in a home where I'm the only pet. That way, you can lavish your attention on just me. Think it over; kick the tires, so to speak. I'm a good dog who really needs a break. Three years is a long time. Just give me a chance. I am able to meet by appointment with pre-approved applicants who are able to give me the home that I need. I believe there's someone for everyone and I know you're out there. Believe in me. Please.
